The 45°C burning method is not very suitable for hotel carpets and is not recommended as an acceptance criterion.

I. Why is it "unreasonable"?
1. Distorted Simulation: The 45°C method involves an open flame directly igniting the carpet from the bottom. In reality, hotel carpets rarely encounter such extreme open flames; cigarette butts (tablet method) or small fires spreading on the floor (radiant heat source method) are more common.
Its testing conditions are too stringent, easily misjudging qualified carpet products as unqualified.
2. Out of sync with mainstream standards:
- Fire safety inspections and hotel bidding only recognize GB/T 11785 (radiant heat source method).
- Exports to Europe and America only recognize 16 CFR 1630 / EN ISO 9239. The 45°C method is not adopted by mainstream standards, making it useless.
3. Unstable Data: The data is greatly affected by carpet pile height, density, and adhesive backing. Multiple tests on the same carpet will yield significantly different results, making it of low reference value.
II. Correct Carpet Flame Retardant Testing Combination (Most Reasonable and Universal)
- Mandatory: GB/T 11049 (Tablet Method) → Simulates cigarette butts, most practical
- Mandatory: GB/T 11785 (Radiant Heat Source Method) → Simulates fire spread, mandatory for fire protection/hotels

III. Summary in One Sentence
The 45°C burning method is not applicable to carpets, is not universal, and is not authoritative. Do not use it as the acceptance standard for hotel carpets.
